Share Disability Alert
Share Disability Alert
I had an accident in 2002.
After six years I have gotten quiet use to the fact that the medical system for me just does not work.
After six years of living with a disability i know what it mean to be humbled.
My family has had to go through the torment of being constantly in pain and without my income.
At first I used to tell to people what happened.
What is was like to live with a constant feeling of numbness and shooting pain.
That did not work.
Eventually I just shut up and suffered in silence.
The health system for a person with a disability is a different world.
For me I try to divert my energy into things that take my mind off the constant discomfort.
I would like to see every person on Prince Edward Island to be given the Worker compensation facts of life.
1)-What can happen if you are injured while you are working out of province?
2)-Did you know that if you are injured in Toronto and if you wish to come home to Prince Edward Island you are disqualified for any services.
3)-Basically you are left to fend for yourself and there is nothing you can do but confront the WSIB system on your own. The process is discouraging to say the least.
4)- Did you know that Workers compensation boards are not inter-provincial.
I not going to tell who i am because I could be anyone you know and have learned that once you tell people you are injured you are marginalized in many forms.
Thanks for you time.

UPEI Railway land
Future Generations Hub: "Think about the Prince Edward Island Railway for a moment.
Think about every one who traveled by train or who received goods or services here on Prince Edward Island since 1871.
Students traveling from home to attend university on Prince Edward Island.Solders traveling to War to serve and protect us. Each Story Stone and Station is a ticket to learn about Prince Edward Islands rich history of Innovation and higher learning.
This Historical Railway Digitalization project is a new and exciting portal for the Future Generations project. A real time and real space historical collection portal.
A New Opportunity.
To Preserve this symbolic rite of passage to remember a railway and where we came from to become part of Canada and the Confederation Trail.
A very important Canadian symbol for today's new generation of Canada's.
The Future Generation Project It's about respecting Canada's Confederation by creating cuuriculums and digital collection to preserve and protect this knowledge by sharing it and teaching it using new search engines and widgets for social networks.
This is important to Prince Edward Islanders becuase in 2008 our rights and privileges are still based upon these constitutional pillars that were worked for and fought for by generations of Prince Edward Islanders along with the rest of Canadians.
Today we have inherited these privileges.
Our island heritage and culture is on the line.
The old Prince Edward Island Railway line and Confederation Trail is an opportunity to track our history.
By educating islanders about this hard earned and hard fought for way of life on Prince Edward Island we protect it for future generation to come.
We can no longer afford to forget and neglect this very important part of Canada' history.
So we are asking The university of Prince Edward Island to continue to honor this historical railway platform and location along the Confederation Trail and PEIR as a symbolic link of transportation and communication connecting us to Confederation and it's people who come to learn and understand our world .
The old railway has turned into a Confederation trail and we are reconnecting this history and preserving this cultural content for Future Generations .
H. Wade MacLauchlan UPEI President and Vice-Chancellor congratulation on your membership into the Order Of Canada.
Keep up the good work you are doing for our country and our chidren.

- Why is this important to Prince Edward Island to appreciate Canada's 1871 Railway Act.
- What was our "Confederation Agreement", with Canada in 1873.
- How dose this effect us today as a province and as Prince Edward Islanders.

Pageflakes - Get it Together
Pageflakes - Get it Together: "Topic: Next Steps in light of the Archives.
There were two very important events that took place this week.
These events are building blocks for the future Generations of Prince Edward Islanders.
Presenting us all with a golden opportunity to preserve and Protect the Prince Edward Island railway history and most importantly the stories and the artifacts associated by past generations of islanders.
The Confederation Trail represents a workhorse for Prince Edward Islands industry, agriculture, tourism, travel, transportation, culture, history, marketing, and technology in the past and into the present.
This thin line of steal connected us to our constitutional rights and partnerships with the capital.
I say capitol because it is the pillar of everything we represent as a province from our original vision as a nation in 1873.
A social and ecomic pillar we base our current provincial federal agreements upon in: Health Canada,
Transport Canada, Communication and technologies and everything we agree upon with Canada' federal governments.
UPEI is asking the community, what to do with land connecting to the railway tracks?
I am urged to say... Use the land to create a space that will 'Honor the country and it's people of the past. Who traveled to your University's door step by train .
